Mechatronics students typically get exposed to system integration through hands-on small projects in the labs. The real-world systems, however, are a lot more complex and require in-depth knowledge of systems engineering. Such a fundamental education is typically not covered in undergraduate mechatronics programs.
Any suggestions/examples of courses that could be incorporated into mechatronics curricula to prepare the students with such a skill-set?
Any insights from our industrial partners?
