The School of Engineering Technology at Purdue University has a full-time opening at its Anderson, Indiana Campus, beginning in January 2018 or no later than August 2018. This position may be filled as either a Visiting Assistant Professor or as a Continuing Lecturer.

Principal Duties

The Purdue Polytechnic transformation requires faculty with both high technical competence and the ability and desire to teach in active classrooms. We are looking for candidates to teach students in our Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MFET) program with strengths in the application of instrumentation and digital control. Candidates must have the ability to adapt this content for students in the mechatronics and robotics majors within the Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MFET) program. Candidates should be able to teach a variety of courses including but not limited to Industrial Controls, Embedded Digital Systems, Analog Signal Processing and Instrumentation and DAQ Design.

As the MFET programs grow at our statewide locations, there will be an increased demand for these courses, in multiple instructional formats. A new hire will have some expectation for distance education and possible travel/teaching at both Locations: Anderson and Richmond.

 Qualifications

Applicants must have at least an MS in engineering technology, engineering, computer science, or a related discipline. This position requires the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing for both classroom effectiveness and external engagement. People with the proven ability to contribute to an inclusive workplace are particularly encouraged to apply. Relevant, recent industrial experience and prior teaching experience are highly desirable.
