Please join us for the inaugural Mechatronics Education Innovation Webinar on Friday, September 29, 2017, at 2 pm EST with a guest presenter, Dr. Vikram Kapila from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering.

Dr. Kapila is a professor of Mechanical Engineering at NYU Tandon and directs a Mechatronics, Controls, and Robotics Laboratory, a Research Experience for Teachers Site, a DR K-12 research project, and an ITEST research project, all funded by NSF.

In the webinar, Dr. Kapila will discuss the evolution of the mechatronics program at NYU Tandon and give highlights of the curricula of several courses and student projects. He will also provide an overview of the recently launched M.S. in Mechatronics and Robotics degree program. Dr. Kapila will also describe recent developments in the design, development, and assessment of mobile mixed-reality laboratory test-beds to render engaging laboratory education experiences and highlight synergistic activities related to mechatronics and robotics education for K-12 constituencies. Finally, Dr. Kapila will present some recent research directions concerning mixed-reality, intuitive, and natural human-robot interaction as well as some mechatronics and robotics solutions for healthcare.

Very interesting presentation by Dr. Kapila, and a great start for our Mechatronics Education Innovation Webinar Series! We will be sharing the recording of the webinar and the presentation slides with the community within the next few days! Great thanks to Dr. Kapila and to everyone who helped with the webinar organization! Stay tuned for the details on the next webinar coming up in October - we have invited Dr. Melek, Director of Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo too share his perspective on mechatronics education.
